Part of an ongoing exploration of nature through cyanotype, this botanical study began with a simple encounter with a flower. Using the plant itself to create the image, I work with sunlight, chemistry, and the natural form of the specimen to translate something ephemeral into a lasting impression.
Each cyanotype is made by hand, making every piece an original. Variations in exposure, the plant itself, and the chemistry of the process give each print its own character.
